Sixteen years ago, Ian Kiernan, an 'average Australian bloke' had a simple idea to make a difference in his own backyard - Sydney Harbour. This simple idea has now become the nation's largest community-based environmental event called Clean Up Australia Day.

The Clean Up Australia Day Organisation aims to inspire and work with communities to clean up, fix up and conserve our environment.

So on Sunday 4th March, Barrabool Hills Baptist Church and Bayside join together to do their part for Clean Up Australia Day.

We will be meeting at the Baseball Pavilion at Waurn Ponds from 1.30pm for a free BBQ lunch. Following this we will begin our clean up project of the Waurn Ponds Creek and Skate Park from 2pm-4pm.

We encourage as many people as possible to come and be a part of this awesome opportunity to not only care for our environment but also join with others in our local community.

Gloves and bags are provided however it is essential to wear appropriate shoes.
